What to do after you have been awarded a scholarship2017 recipients

After you have been chosen as the recipient of a scholarship, there are a few simple steps you must follow to collect the scholarship award.

The community members who contributed this scholarship are placing their confidence in your ability to succeed in your future education. We encourage you to take the time to thank your scholarship donor(s). A "thank you" card for your scholarship donor(s) has been included in your packet to help you initiate this process.

In order to receive your scholarship money, please follow these directions:

  1. Before June 30, 2019 you must go back into the Murrieta Dollars for Scholars website and "ACCEPT" your scholarships. If you don't have all the necessary information yet (student ID, school) you can go back and fill it in once you have the information; but you MUST accept by June 30, 2019 to receive your money at a later date.

  2. When you are ready to have your money sent, you must send a copy of your college registration or class schedule showing you are enrolled in at least 12 units, college student ID number, along with a stamped legal size envelope addressed to your college Financial Aid Office to:

You must complete this step before funds can be sent to your college.  The deadline for disbursement of funds is May 1, 2019, or your scholarship will go back to Murrieta Dollars for Scholars to be distributed to other scholarship recipients. 

A check for the full amount of all your scholarships will be sent directly to the financial aid office.  If  you received more than one scholarship you do not need to send multiple requests.  One letter to Murrieta Dollars for Scholars is all we need.  Questions?  Call Lori Noorigian at 951 696-1600 ext. 1080.
